“What is this story of ‘whiteness’ about?” Captain Ahab must have thought when he heard about the white whale Moby Dick for the first time. And visitors entering the Palazzo Bellini, in the historic centre of Oleggio might well ask the same question when recovering from their amazement at precious stuccos, frescoes, and wooden ceilings restored to their original splendour, they notice the presence of contemporary works of art.
Palazzo Bellini
The historic neoclassical building in the centre of Oleggio has been returned to its original splendour thanks to an extensive renovation, conservation, and restoration project commissioned by Laura and Luigi Giordano and directed by architect Lorenzo Bini - Studio Binocle. This operation returns a piece of the town’s history to its citizens – Palazzo Bellini today becomes SPA | Spazio Per Arte (space for art).
Educational
For each of its annual exhibitions SPA develops a special programme of visits and workshops aimed at schools. All activities are designed to encourage an interdisciplinary approach and the dissemination of knowledge. Curated by Federica Mingozzi
